Mata Murti Temple History
Narayan is another name for Lord Badrinath. It is thought that Mata Murti fervently begged Lord Vishnu, asking him to take on her body as his next incarnation. Her devotion pleased Lord Vishnu, who manifested as the twins. Thus, praying to the Goddess is thought to release a person from the pains of a worldly existence.
