In Mana village, in the Chamoli region of Uttarakhand, on the banks of the Saraswati River, is an old cave famous as Vyas Gufa. The final Indian town near the China-India border is Mana. A must among the place to visit in Badrinath

It is a belief that the sage Vyas wrote the Mahabharata epic at Vyas Gufa with the help of Lord Ganesha. In addition, he wrote four Vedas, Brahma Sutras, and eighteen Puranas. The pilgrims install and revere the Maharishi Vyas statue in the caverns. One of the temple's unique features is the dome, designed to mirror the pages of his holy script collection.

Vyas Gufa History

The location also has a fascinating legend that explains Lord Ganesh's fractured tusks. To have someone take down his dictation when he was writing the Mahabharata, Vyas requested the erudite Ganesha. Ganesh consented, but only on the condition that Vyas would not, not even for a second, cease writing and depart.

With Vyas dictating as quickly as he could, Ganesh stooped over the pages of the screenplay. His reed pen finally broke. In response, he severed a portion of his tusk to serve as a pen.

Beneath the Vyas cave in a nearby area is also the location of Ganesha cave. Bhim Pul, a naturally occurring rock that straddles the river, is located close to this shrine—another cave known as Muchukand Gufa is located a further 3 kilometers uphill from Vyas Gufa.

It is connected to the legend of Lord Krishna, who skillfully aided Sage Muchukand in bringing the monster Kaal Yawan to his demise. There are rumors that the cave still has Lord Krishna's footsteps. The place must include your BADRINATH TOUR PACKAGE, especially if you love history.

The best time to visit

Traveling to the Vyas Cave is most enjoyable in April through June and September through November. These are the most pleasant and ideal months to visit this place. During the winter, this route stays closed for six months. This place experiences cold weather in the winter.

This place experiences extremely low temperatures during the winter because of the abundant snowfall. Traveling through this area during the rainy season can be challenging due to severe rainfall that could trigger landslides.
