In Karnataka's Hassan District, on the banks of the Yagachi River, lies the town of Belur and its 16 km-apart twin town, Halebid. Both towns are home to beautiful churches that show the builders' great artistic taste and skill from long ago. The two cities, Belur and Halebid, are famous for the "Jewels of the Indian cultural heritage." These places have so much history and culture. Belur is famous for Chennakesava of Lord Vishnu.

Belur Chennakeshava Temple

The Vijaya Narayana temple was blessed by the famous Hoysala king Vishnuvardhana to remember his wins over the Cholas in 1116 AD. The Hoysalas built their buildings out of soft soapstone because it was easy to carve with fine details. It looks like a giant coffin. This work of art is truly stunning in its fine craftsmanship and skill. The temple's beautiful architecture makes it worth visiting during the Chikamagalur tour packages.

Doddagaddavalli

People in Doddagaddavalli village are famous for the Lakshmi Devi Temple. It was built by the Hoysalas in 1114 AD. Doddagaddavalli is one of the best places to visit in Belur. The temple was built when King Vishnuvardhana was in charge. It is between Hassan and Belur. It is made of soapstone and is one of the first famous churches built in the Hoysala style. In contrast to many later Hoysala temples, this one does not stand on a platform.

Halebeedu

The small town of Halebeedu in the Hassan district was once the royal home of the Hoysala empire (10th to 14th centuries). Its beautiful temples bring tourists from all over the country. The two temples of Hoysaleshwara and Kedareshwara are the main places to visit during the Belur tour packages.

Hoysala Mahotsava

The Hoysala Mahotsava is an annual event held in March or April at the Hoysala temples in Belur and Halebid, Karnataka, India. Dance, music, and art are performed at the festival to honor the Hoysala Dynasty and King Hoysala's military victory in 1117 AD. Hindus believe that the event is holy and lucky. The Mahotsava is one of the best times for the Chikamagalur tour packages.

Hoysaleswara Temple, Halebeedu

The Hoysaleswara temple is also sometimes famous as the Halebidu temple. It is a Hindu temple from the 1100s that is for Lord Shiva. Another excellent example of temple construction is the Halebidu temple, one of the twin temples of Hoysaleshwara. It is another beautiful temple among the places to visit in Belur. Tourists can see the outside walls of these buildings, which have scenes from Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavatha. The skill and speed with which the sculptor cut these stories into the stone are mesmerizing.

Madanikas

The 42 sculptures of heavenly maidens, the Madanikas, are in the Hoysala Chennakeshava temple in Belur, Karnataka. In the 11th century, the temple came into existence. The Madanikas are female figures, often in a green frame with a lotus flower base. The women are dancing, holding branches, or playing an instrument. The four bracket figures on the temple ceiling are trendy and show how beautiful the Hoysala sculpture can be.

Narasimha Pillar

The Narasimha Pillar is a massive structure wholly made of soapstone. It is also a famous structure in the Chennakesava Temple, another great place to visit in Belur. The Narasimha Pillar is there, and it is more than 30 feet tall. The pillar is an excellent example of Hoysala craftsmanship, with small statues of sculptures from the temple.

Shantaleswara Temple

In honor of Lord Shiva, the Hoysalas built the Shantal Eshwara Temple in the 12th century. It is another fantastic work of theirs. You can find it in Halebidu, one of the most religious places in Belur. It has two similar temples inside, Shantaleshwara and Hoysaleshwara.

Shravanabelagola

Shravanabelagola is a popular weekend getaway from Bengaluru. The 57-foot-tall figure of Bahubali is its main attraction and is worth visiting during the Belur tour packages. It is the world's tallest statue made from a single granite block. To better understand this vast magic, you must climb the almost 700 steps cut into the rock face.
