The Hindu Ahilyabai Temple is in the town of Somnath. It is one of the old and beautiful buildings in Somnath, right next to the famous Somnath Temple. The Triveni Ghat is another lovely place to visit in Somnath. 

The little pink temple has a Shivling that is below the ground. In contrast to the new Somnath Temple, anyone can enter the garbhagriha and do pooja with the priest's help. Many instruments, like damroos, play along with the aarti here, which is lovely to listen to. Going to the Ghat is a big part of any Somnath tour package. 

History 

There are a lot of connections between the histories of Ahilyabai Temple and Somnath Temple. There is a story that this temple was built to replace the main Somnath temple when it was attacked and destroyed. Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar, a firm Hindu believer, built the palace.

When she experienced how bad the Somnath temple was, she built a new one to replace the destroyed one. People still pray to Shiva in this temple.

It is also said that Ahilyabai dreamed about where the swayambhu linga would be built and then started building it immediately. The original Jyotirlinga that exists in the Ahilyabai Temple is something that many Hindus believe. People were afraid that someone would attack the first Somnath Temple.
