Shree Triveni Sangam Ghat

The Triveni Ghat is the name of the Ghat that watches over this pool. The Triveni Ghat is another beautiful attraction among the places to visit in Somnath. 

It is where the three rivers, Hiran, Kapil, and the mythical Saraswathy, get together. Hindus think these rivers flow to their final destination, the sea, so this place is very holy to them. 

Hindus see this meeting point as a sign of birth, life, and death. Some people say that dipping in this pool will wash away all your sins and save you from having to be born again.

History

The Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Puranas are holy books about the Triveni Ghat. In myths, Lord Krishna came by this Ghat before a shooter named Jara killed him with an arrow.

This town is home to the well-known Somnath Temple. It is believed that this temple is one of Shiva's 12 places. Many pilgrims visit this temple yearly because of its long past and religious beliefs. 

After being destroyed by many Muslim attackers, the temple was rebuilt many times. The Indian Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel started to rebuild the temple. It was finished in 1951 after he had died.
