History of Kallathigiri Falls
According to local legends, the Kallathigiri Falls was a pilgrim centre of the Saint Agasthya. Agasthya Muni chanced upon this waterfall during his traveling and stayed here for a few months. Here, you can explore the Veerabhadra temple, that was constructed during the era of Vijayanagara. At the entrance of this waterfall, you can see the structure of three elephants. These structures of elephants show the influence of Vijayanagara architecture. For this religious influence, it is believed that the water of this waterfall is very sacred.
