A holy spot called Anjaneri Hills lies between Nasik and Trimbakeshwar. One of the most well-known forts in the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar mountain range is Anjaneri, one of the most popular places to visit in Nashik for hiking.

What is Anjaneri Hills famous for?

Anjaneri Hills is famous for its ancient temples, scenic paths, and history. People believe Lord Hanuman was born there, and climbers visit the summit's Anjaneri Fort. The hill is popular among nature lovers and adventurers for its stunning vistas. The fort has temples to numerous deities, making it spiritually significant.

How much time does it take to climb the Anjaneri Hills?

The walk begins in Anjaneri village. If you go at a normal pace, it will take you two to three hours to reach the top, which includes breaks for photos and snacks. The Anjaneri fort covers a large area, but it doesn't look like it has any other ruins besides the temples.

It is why most people only go to the Hanuman temple at the top of the fort. Walking across the whole hill will take a lot longer, and only experienced trekkers do it. Anjaneri Fort is an excellent addition to Nashik tour packages for adventure lovers and trekkers.

What difficulty level is the Anjaneri trek?

According to most guides, the Anjaneri trek is moderately challenging and requires a medium amount of stamina. Some sources say it's easy to moderate and suitable for beginners with basic fitness. The trail has some tricky rock sections and steep parts that climbers must tackle carefully and with the right shoes.

Essential facts about how hard the trip is:

•    The hike is about 3–4 km long and is split into two main parts. The first part takes about 40 minutes from the forest department to the Anjani Mata Temple, and the second takes about 1.5 hours to get from the temple to the Hanuman Temple near the top.

•    The path has rock steps, boulder fields, and wooded areas that can get slippery during the monsoon.

•    Fairly fit beginners should be able to do it, but they must use trekking poles and good shoes for safety, especially on the way down.

What is the history of Anjaneri Nashik?

People know the fort as the place where Lord Hanuman was born. Since Hanuman is the son of Anjani Mata and the wind god, people also call him "Anjani Suta" and "Pavanputra." According to a story, Anjani Mata meditated for 108 years and was blessed with Hanuman.

In Anjaneri, there are many temples to Hanuman and Anjani mata. The village has at least 16 buildings, including 4 Hindu and 12 Jain structures. It gives the area a lot of religious importance.
