Igatpuri is a city and a hill town in the Western Ghats. It is 130 km from Mumbai and is in the Nashik district of Maharashtra. Igatpuri, on the National Highway between Mumbai and Agra, is a nature lover's dream and is often listed among the popular Nashik tour packages. It also has some of the tallest peaks in the Sahyadri range.

There are a lot of different kinds of tourist spots in Igatpuri. You can get away from the noise and chaos of the city in them. The town has a lot of old forts and lovely streams. You can also do other things outside, like rock climbing, hikes, camping, and more. People who love nature will adore this place.

Why is Igatpuri so famous?

The Vipassana International Academy is the main attraction in Igatpuri. It is the home of the biggest Vipassana meditation centre in the world. Gautam Buddha first taught this austere type of meditation in the sixth century BC. Igatpuri is among the top places to visit in Nashik during rainy season. It's a well-known weekend resort from Mumbai and Pune. It is also a major railway station in Maharashtra that connects to other towns.

You can do fun things like rock climbing and hiking in Igatpuri, as well as see old forts, beautiful waterfalls, and high mountains. The Bhatsa River Valley, the Camel Valley, the Konkankada Valley, and the Randha Falls are just a few of the beautiful valleys and waterfalls in Igatpuri.

These spots are wonderful for photography enthusiasts and nature lovers. Located at an altitude of 3000ft, Igatpuri has Trngalwadi Fort where trekkers can reside. From the fort, you can see a breathtaking view.

In the winter, Latpuri has a lot to offer people who want to try new things. The summers are very hot and should ideally be avoided.
