Locals said that Maharaja Roop Singh built this Fort inspired by nature. He saw a sheep who was protecting his lambs from some wolves, which gave him the idea of building a Fort to protect his empire. When the king Maharaja Roop Singh ascended the Fort, the name of this Fort was Roopangarh Fort, and the city name came after him. Under the rule of the king, the Fort showcased its beautiful architecture and impeccable paintings. The beauty and grandeur follow inside the walls of the Fort as well. There is a structure, namely the Phool palace or the Phool Mahal, which boasts the splendor of the Rajput kings.
