Lachen, within the northern district of Sikkim, is a beautiful place and a popular tourist attraction. It is famous for the Lachung temple. Chopta Valley Lachen

Lachen Monastery

It is also famous as Ngodub Choling Monastery. Builders constructed the temple in the Tibetan style, creating a peaceful setting with stunning views. This monastery preserves some Buddhist views along with the figure of Guru Padmasambhava or Guru Rinpoche. There are colored prayer flags and prayer wheels all over the abbey grounds. Every year, the abbey holds a mask dance as part of all of its important events.

Thangu Valley

Tso Lhamo Lake

It's also called Tso Lhamo Lake. The Cholamu Lake in North Sikkim is the highest lake in India and the 14th highest lake in the world. It is 18,000 feet above sea level. You can see this moderately sized, almost frozen lake for the first time as you come down the hill about 300 feet from Donkiala Pass (18,300 feet). You can't take normal guests to Cholamu Lake because it's only a few km from the border with Tibet. It is one of the most stunning places to visit in Lachen, attracting adventure seekers and nature lovers.
