As mentioned before, Pushkar is a famous pilgrimage site for both Hindus and Sikhs, which is why PUSHKAR PACKAGES are very popular among tourists. Pushkar has many temples and Gurudwaras that enhance and graces its lands. Some of these architectural pieces even belong from the bygone 18th Century. This is also a reason why several Muslim conquests in the area destroyed many of them. And the rebuilding of the ruins thus took place later. There are various PLACES TO VISIT IN PUSHKAR that are listed further in the article, which will allow you to browse some of the basic options around the area.

Pushkar Tourist Places:

The city of Pushkar is a revered holy place for Hindus and Sikhs alike. So, there are various holy shrines here that tourists love to visit, along with other places offering beautiful scenic ambiance. A list of some of them is below.

1.    The Brahma Temple -Among the vast list of temples found in Pushkar, the Brahma Temple is the most significantly popular one. The original Brahma Temple is said to be dating back almost 2000 years, yet the current rebuilt structure (post destruction during the era of Aurangzeb) dates back to the 14th Century. This Temple is among the very few temples dedicated to Lord Brahma in the whole of India and also in the whole world.

2.    Savitri Temple – The Savitri Temple is dedicated to the wife of Lord Brahma and is situated on the top of the Ratnagiri hills. This hilltop offers a marvelous view of the sunrise and sunset. The Temple resides at the height of 750 feet and contains 650 steps for a climb which feels totally worth the activity when one reaches the top.

3.    Pushkar Lake – Another name for Pushkar Lake is the ‘Tirtha-Raj’ or the king of places for pilgrimage. Hindus consider this lake as a sacred lake. Locals believe that this lake was generated when Lord Brahma dropped his lotus here. The water of this lake thus has medicinal properties. Apart from this, it is also believed that Guru Gobind Singh, who was the tenth Sikh Guru, had read the Guru Granth Sahib (the holy book for Sikhs) by this lake.

4.    Man Mahal – This Mahal or palace was reflected to serve as a guest house to Raja Man Singh I, the 29th Kachwaha, Rajput ruler of Amer, later known as Jaipur. Featuring the Royal Rajasthani style of architecture, this Mahal is exceptionally beautiful. The Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation converted the palace into a heritage hotel for tourists to be able to visit and experience the royal treatment of the bygone era.
