About Anegundi

Anegundi is much different from our everyday city life. The kids playing around, mothers running around them, people walking through the fields and going to work gives you a rural feeling. It is a cool and peaceful place. It was previously used for giving the elephant shelter of the Vijayanagar Empire. It is one of the best places to visit in Hampi for taking a break from our monotonous routine. 

Anegundi Location

Anegundi village is located in Gangavathi Taluk, of Koppal district in Karnataka. It is by the northern bank of the Tungabhadra River. It was previously known as Khiskindha village. It is among the world heritage site, Hampi and is an important part of Hampi tourism.

Anegundi royal family

The royal family resided 250 years ago in the Heere Deewan. A crucial part of the royal family is preserved here. Tirumala Venkata Devaraya was the eldest son of the family. After him were two twin sisters, Krishna Rayakumari and Shiva Rayakumari. The family members resided there until the fourth Mysore war took place.

The Utsav took place on January 9, 2020, after a gap of five years.

Anegundi navabrindavanam is a beautiful small island by the Tungabhadra River.
