At the northernmost part of Andaman lies the popular Diglipur Island which is one of the most prominent parts of Andaman. While talking about places to visit in Andaman this place top the list as an ecotourism destination. The island is a collection of beaches assembled which includes the Kalipur beach, Ramnagar Beach, Ross and Smith Beach, and even Pathi Level beach. This archipelago is often trekked by the notable trekkers and water sports are actively done here.

How to reach Diglipur Island?

Planning a holiday in Diglipur Island is mainly reached by boat or ferry from the Port Blair and even from the Mayabunder. The boat will take you till the Aerial Bay Jetty which is near to Kalipur island. The boat services are only available twice in a week. This may be less but the place is well connected with service in and out.

Best time to visit Diglipur Island

The popular destination Diglipur Island can be best visited around May to October. The Scenic beauty is extravagant and the temperature remains in control which is around 23 degree Celsius to 31 degree Celsius.

Mud Volcano Diglipur

In the northern part of Diglipur Island lays the most wonderful hidden mud volcano. The craters are filled with natural gas which emits out once the decayed organic matter is underground. This process slowly pushes the mud inside and one the temperature exceeds the normalcy. The mud lava gushes out of the crater. You will notice piles of dried mud next to the place along with small bubbling puddles. It is not a dangerous place the scenic beauty is amazing. The beauty of observing 412 active muddy craters surrounding the wildlife and the vibrant nature makes it a must witness view.

The best time to witness here in the morning period when the atmosphere is less humid and winds are cold.

Diglipur Island Alfred Caves

In this wonderland, there is a collection of 42 caves which is spread across the town of Diglipur. The caves are most difficult to enter but trekking opportunities are very high. The trails are extremely narrow and shallow so if you are weak-hearted do not go for trekking. It is a wonderful place to see so many things undiscovered and covered with nature to witness through your eyes.
