The Gunadala Church is a beautiful and important place for Christians to visit. It is in the hills of Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. This place, which is also famous as the Gunadala Matha Shrine or St. The St. Mary's church gets thousands of visitors throughout the year. One of the best places to see in Vijayawada is the Gundala Church.

It is away in the hills of the Krishna District. It gives many people hope and comfort. An iron cross, an image of Mother Mary, and a museum with many holy items have all been put up here. During the celebration of Our Lady of Lourdes, a huge number of pilgrims and tourists have come together here.

Why is Gunadala Church famous?

The second biggest Christian church in South India is the Church of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Andhra Pradesh. People know the site for the statue of Our Lady that is in a natural cave in the suburbs of Vijayawada. It is similar to the Church of Our Lady in a Natural Cave in Lourdes, France. The church is a must-visit during the Vijayawada tour package.

History of Gundala Church

Because the church is on a hill, it has beautiful views of the area. Many people think that the Virgin Mary showed up on this hill in 1858, making it a holy place. Father Huges Pezzoni built the church and was a major force in the growth of the Gunadala area.

Journey Up the Hill

The journey to the top of the hill is a very good experience. There are images of the Stations of the Cross that you can see as you go up a set of steps. On the way up, there is also a cave with a beautiful statue of Mother Mary inside.

The Gunadala Church holds a big event every year in February for the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. A huge number of people visit the shrine every day to pray, march, and attend special masses.

People of all faiths can enjoy the Gunadala Church; it is a lovely and quiet spot. The walk up the hill is good for you and has beautiful views. The church itself is a peaceful place.
