The best place to visit in Vijayawada is the Mangalagiri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. The three temples of Narasimha Swamy at Mangalagiri make it a popular spot for pilgrims. Panakala Narasimha Swamy is on top of the hill, Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy is at the base of the hill, and Gandala Narasimha Swamy is at the very top.

At the Panakala Narasimha Swamy temple, there isn't a figure of God. Instead, there is a mouth with a metal facing of God on it. People who come to visit the temple offer sugar water to the Lord to worship him. Tourists can see the shrine to Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at the base of the hill.

It is a belief that the most important god here is Yudhisthira, the oldest of the Pandavas. Raja Vasireddy Venkatadri Naidu built one of the tallest gopurams in all of South India for this temple. It is the Gandalayam, which is at the top of the hill. There is no god there. People come here to light a lamp with Ghee and pray that their problems will go away.

Why is Mangalagiri famous?

The town of Mangalagiri is famous as a place where many people come to pray. A popular and lovely temple to Lord Panakala Narasimha Swamy is on a hill in the middle of Mangalagiri town to honor him. In India, there are eight Mahakshethrams or holy places. This temple is one of them. The Mangalagiri temple is a must-visit place during the Vijayawada tour package.

What is Mangalagiri Narasimha Swamy Temple's specialty?

The panakam gift at Mangalagiri temple is very famous. It is made of jaggery water, cardamom, and other spices. Being swayambhu means that God lives on his own and appears only by His lotus mouth. You will be amazed when you see this God. Another name for Sri Panakala Narasimha Swamy is Surya Narasimha.

The Mystery of Panakala Narasimha Swamy Temple

People in Andhra Pradesh really like the Sri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple. The image of Lord Narasimha is very unique. It only has a face with the mouth open wide. People who visit this temple say that when the monks offer jaggery water to the lord, they can hear a gurgling sound.
