Kolleru Lake & Sanctuary

Kolleru Lake & Sanctuary is a big freshwater lake that covers 300 square miles between the Krishna and Godavari deltas. Birds that come and go every year live there from October to March. Kolleru Lake is one of the best places to visit in Vijayawada.

History 

Six hundred seventy-three square kilometres make up the Kolleru Bird Sanctuary. It has a long past that goes back to 1999 when it was created under India's Wildlife Protection Act of 1972.
