Sculpture Museum Mahabalipuram is one of the most famous place among the different places to visit in Mahabalipuram. This place is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is located in Tamil Nadu. This beautiful museum is located in an old colonial building. It is believed that a huge collection of sculptures is present inside the museum, which are from the 17th century to the 18th century.

There are three galleries inside the museum. The first gallery shows the different cultures that belong to the Pallavas dynasty. In the first gallery, you can see beautiful stone carvings of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and goddess Durga. Not only this, but the carvings are from different Hindu stories and mythology. You can see the beautiful stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata and also on different types of carvings. 
 
If we are talking about the second gallery, then the second gallery is dedicated to the Chola dynasty's rules from the 19th century to the 13th century AD. Because of that, different types of bronze sculptures are present in this gallery. Not only this, but you can also find beautiful coins that were created during the Cholas dynasty. 

The third gallery that is present in the cultural museum Mahabalipuram is dedicated to the Vijayanagar dynasty. Vijayanagar dynasty ruled the place from the 14th century to 17 century AD. Here, you will find different types of artistic styles that were shown in the Vijayanagar dynasty. Again different types of sculptures that were created during the Vijayanagar period are present here.
