Thirukkalukundram is a small town which is located in Tamil Nadu. The place is well known for its beautiful holy temples. Along with the temples, the scenic beauty in Thirukalukundram is also really amazing. 

The meaning of the place can be derived from “Kal” which means stone, and “kundram” which means hill. Some of the ancient temples that are constructed in the Thirukkalukundram are the Vedagiriswarar temple and Thirumalappan temple. The Vedagiriswarar temple was constructed by the Chola dynasty. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. You will find very beautiful architecture and carvings inside the temple. 

Thirumalappan temple is also known as Mayan Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. It is believed that during the rule of the Pallavas dynasty, the temple was constructed.
