Nallamala Jungle Camp is spread out over 10 acres and has four semi-permanent cottages. It also has six semi-permanent tented accommodation cottages, a welcome area, a library, and a dorm. It cost Rs. 2.17 crore to build. The jungle camp experience is worth it during the Srisailam tour package.
History
The Nallamala Jungle Camp at Bairluty is a community-based ecotourism project that began in 2017. The main goal of the camp is to get people in the area to care about wildlife, teach tourists about conservation, and give the locals the tools they need to make a better living. Bairluty is another government ecotourism program in Andhra Pradesh. The other two programmes are Thummalabailu and Panherla.
Activities at Bairluty Jungle Camp
A jungle adventure, trekking, bird watching, and tribal archery are some of the ecotourism activities that are available at this camp. The camp offers a two-hour Jeep Safari through the Nallamala Forests, which is a great way to get out into the wild and see the variety of plants and animals that live in the Eastern Ghats. In the forest near Nagalooti, during a Jeep tour, one can also see the very old Veera Bhadra Swamy Temple and the Ganesh Temple.
The deep slopes and gorges that you have to cross on your trek through Nallamala are an experience in and of themselves. People in the tourism zone can choose from a number of different trekking paths at varying lengths of time. A local guide would go with smaller groups of five to six people. Each path would be about 3 to 4 km long. It is also a great place to watch birds because it is home to about 200 different kinds.
