It's also famous for its exciting trekking trails. The Saleshwaram trek is worth visiting during the Srisailam tour package.

What is the story of the Saleshwaram Temple?

The Saleshwaram Cave Temple came into existence sometime in the sixth or seventh century AD. Hindu books from long ago, like the Sri Parvatha Purana, talk about this old temple.

The old Puranas also talk about this place. The famous book by Seshanatha, Sri Parvatha Purana, which was written in the 1600s and is about Srisailam, talks about this place. There is a rock temple to Lord Shiva here, as well as two ponds called Sarvesa Theertham and Pushkara Theertham.

The best time to visit
