Hathni Mata Waterfall is a stunning waterfall located in Shiv Rajpur, Gujarat. It is one of Gujarat's most picturesque waterfalls and one of the top places to visit in Vadodara.

The Hathni Mata Waterfalls, surrounded by lush green hills, is a paradise of beautiful beauty. This 100-metre-long body of water cascades gracefully over a precipice. The fresh waterfall runs best during the monsoon season.

The cave near the waterfalls houses a modest temple devoted to Hathni Mata. The local tribal group named Hathni for the rock resembling a newborn elephant at the waterfall's base.

Although Hathni Mata waterfall is famous among young people and local communities due to its location and seasonal rush, it is one of Jambughoda's many pristine jewels and a must-see on a Vadodara tour package

Etymology

The name of these waterfalls translates to 'small elephant'; history has it that many years ago, the local tribal group discovered a rock that resembled a newborn elephant. If you go to the waterfall's base, you can still see this rock. It has a holy fabric dress and is decorated with flowers.

"Hathni Mata" is a prominently revered goddess among the tribal group. As a result, several fairs happen in her honour, particularly during the winter months.

Activities at Hathni Mata Waterfall

There are a lot of activities you may do to enhance your experience of visiting Hathni Waterfalls:

•    Dirt biking: The short trails leading to the Hathni Mata Waterfalls provide access primarily during the monsoon season. They have so many cornfields and jungles. The downpour makes it a perfect path for dirt biking.
•    Photography Jambughoda's abundance of trees and wildlife, despite degradation, provides opportunities for professional and amateur photographers alike.

The best time to visit Hathni Mata Waterfall

Because it is one of Gujarat's top waterfalls, the seasonal surge attracts many people virtually all year. However, the best time to visit Hathni waterfall is during the monsoon season. After the rainy season has begun, multiple waterfalls run down the hill in full force. The scenery is filled with gorgeous mist and vegetation.

Although July and August are ideal months to explore the Hathni Waterfalls, the scenery is equally stunning in September and October, with fewer visitors.
