Lakshmi Vilas Palace, built in 1880 AD by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, will celebrate its 120th anniversary in 2020 AD. The Maharaja Fateh Singh Palace Museum has genuine paintings by the famed Indian artist Raja Ravi Verma.

Architecture

The palace, built in Indo-Saracenic style, features the famous Darbar Hall, where musical concerts and events are held. It houses a collection of Belgian-coloured glass windows, bronze, marble, terracotta sculptures, and armoury.
