Bijli Mahadev temple story
Bijli Mahadev temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is a “Kash” type temple. It has a “Shiva-lingam”. The small village near this is also called Bijli Mahadev. The Bijli Mahadev temple is very famous for its spiritual and miraculous incidents.
Occasionally when lighting struck the “Shiva-lingam” it shattered into pieces. Then the priest of the temple joins the pieces with the help of butter which acts as an adhesive. People can witness the scars on the walls caused due to the flame generated during lighting.
The villagers are in charge of the maintenance of the temple. Every year during Shivaratri, a huge number of pilgrims come to the temple to pay homage to Lord Shiva. KULLU MANALI TOUR PACKAGE must include this place without any doubt.
There is a 20 meters tall pole installed in the opposite of the temple which is made up of Deodar tree trunk. The villagers replace the pole with another pole made up of the tallest Deodar tree trunk and they celebrate this occasion. They consider this occasion as serving Lord Shiva to get blessings from him. The serenity and the positivity of the place give spiritual energy to tourists.
