The Great Himalayan National Park, as the name suggests, is a National Park located in the Kullu region of India. It is one of the beautiful as well as adventurous places to visit in Manali (1984). This is located at an altitude between 1500 and 6000m. It is spread over a vast area of 1,171 Km square.

The Great Himalayan National Park has a wide variety of flora and fauna species.

There are about 375 fauna species which includes approximately 31 Mammals, 181 Birds, 9 Amphibians, 3 reptiles, 127 Insects, and a variety of other species. The Wildlife Protection Act Of 1972 has taken responsibility for the protection of this National Park. It has a very strict guideline and hence, hunting is prohibited at this place.

The Great Himalayan National Park trek

There are several adventurous treks at The Great Himalayan National Park. Some of the treks are

  • Shilt Hut and Rakhundi Trek
  • Marahni and Kundri Trek
  • Lambri Trek
  • Pin Parvati Trek etc.

The cost of the treks will be around 2500 Rs per head per day and the group size must be at least 6 Persons. Tourists enjoy the day trekking. The view is mesmerizing with mountains and greenery indeed. There are some lakes as well. Best time to visit The Great Himalayan National Park

From the month of March to June and the middle time of September to November are the most splendid time to visit The Great Himalayan National park. In this time the season feels very cozy and the climate remains blissful. Also for trekking, summertime is very relaxing and safe indeed.

We will advise no to choose the rainy season and the core winter season.

There is separate permit charges are applicable. But the best thing is, students have a discount here.

Indian travelers it is 100/day
And For Indian students it is 50/day
For abroad travelers it is 400/day
Also For abroad students it is 250/day

Sainj and Tirthan, these two Rivers are very popular for trout fishing. This is an amazing experience with kids, family, and friends.

River Crossing

Though it sounds dangerous but truly its a secure and safe adventure into the cleanest river. Should not be recommended for Children.
