In the outer part of Seraj Valley, in the Kullu District, Serolsar Lake situated. It is also popular as in name Seruvalsar Lake and Serol Sae Lake. It is a high altitude lake. And it situated at an amazing height of 3,100 meters above the sea level, in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

The Serolsar lake is sandwiched by thick forest cover. It can easily reach by and through Jalori Pass. The climatic conditions at the lake are cool and appropriate for trekking. It is a well maintained and very clean place.

The lake is round in shape and its water is very clear. It attracts a lot of visitors, especially trekkers to itself. It is among the enjoyable places to visit in Kullu. The water here gives blue color, a reflection of the sky, and also, green color, a reflection of oak trees.

Serolsar Lake Trek

The trek to Serolsar lake starts from the Jalori Pass. The route of the trek starts from behind the temple at the Jalori Pass. It is an easy trek of 5 Kms with some ascents and descents but mostly the path is straight. There are a couple of campsites in between the beauty of Hills. This lake should add to the KULLU MANALI TOUR PACKAGE.

Serolsar Lake – Jalori Pass

At the route towards the Serolsar Lake from Jalori from Jalori Pass, the trekkers must notice shepherds with a herd of sheep and the houses which are built under the rock. The environment of the lake is very refreshing and clean. Not a single dry leaf can be found here although the place is full of trees.

Serolsar Lake History

It is a faith that the lake is very deep and the Budhi Nagin (mother of all nag deities) use to live in a golden palace inside the lake. Once a brahmin droned in the lake and she herself saved him and allowed him to live there for 3 years.

There is a belief that in Dwapar Yuga, the Pandavas came here during their exile from Hastinapur and they planted rice plants, which can be seen there today as well.
