The location of Jamla Devta Temple-malana is in the ancient solitary Malana village. It surrounded by MalanaNala, Parvati Valley, and North East side of the Kullu Valley. It is in the lap of handerkhani and DeoTibba. The village has inhabited by sage Jamlu and the Jamla Devta Temple-malana that also dedicated Jamlu Rishi.

The villagers follow their own customs and culture that isolated from the rest of the world. There is a belief that the rules, traditions, and regulations created and introduced by Jamlu Rishi are still followed by the inhabitants.

According to the legends, Sage Jamlu was finding a proper place to meditate and carrying a box of 18 pictures of different gods with him. He accidentally opened the box and a blow of air spread all the pictures across the Baes valley. From them, all the peaks have become a holy place for devotees.

There is another belief that the Jammu Village is the oldest democracy of the world and the villagers are the descendants of Great soldier Alexander and inherit pure Aryan genes.
