  • My Holiday HappinessTravel Tips The trek is moderately difficult so it does not need high trained mountain climbers. But the trekkers should be healthy and fit enough to handle any challenges thrown by mother nature. Children and senior citizens are not allowed to go for trekking. The view near Dhauladhar Mountain and apple orchards give a magnificent view that needs to be captured as a remembrance of your beautiful journey. Carry enough water to keep yourself hydrated throughout the tour. You can carry a water bottle as you will find places to fill that bottle with clean water during your journey to the lake. Also do not forget your power bank, warm clothes, ID cards, and a few personal essentials.

Prashar lake trek is moderate in difficulty levels. It starts from Mandi to the lake via Kantalu. The trail passes through the dense growth of Rhododendron, apple orchards, and lush green meadows. You can witness MukarBeh, Dhauladhar range, Friendship peak, KapChuli, Man Hill, Sikar Beh, Manali peak, Mukila, Hanuman Tibba, Ali RatniTibba, and several small peaks.

This trek takes you through picturesque landscapes and also gives an opportunity of lakeside camping in the midst of that charming scenery.

Prashar lake height/depth

The height of the lake from the sea level is 2730 meters and it is unclear how much the depth is. No diver could determine the depth of the lake till now.

Prashar lake history

It is located in the north of Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The blue water of the lake in the midst of snow-capped mountains and a green floating island in the middle. It gives a magnificent view of the area.

The floating island is a common feature of most of the lakes. But still it looks beautiful in this panoramic landscape.

There is a belief that the lake was the meditation place of Prashar Rishi and Bhima ( one of the PanchaPandavas). That created this lake by ramming his elbow on one of the mountains and creating a big dent in the land. He was the strongest amongst all the five brothers. And he created the lake while returning from Kurukshetra.

Prashar rishi temple

The temple is dedicated to Sage Prashar as according to the legend the rishi used to meditate on the bank of the lake. without any doubt, it is one of the very famous places to visit in Kullu. If it is a plan to visit Manali or Kullu, this place should not miss. KULLU MANALI TOUR PACKAGE must include this place.
