Kheerganga, the exact location at an altitude of 3500m, is a beautiful place popular Kheerganga or Khirganga. It is located at an extreme end of the Sylvan hills of the very famous Parvati Valley. There is a belief that at this place, Lord Shiva (one of the Hindu Gods) meditated for about 3000 years.

Kheerganga is very much popular for its hot water spring, which gives hot water even during snowfalls. It is a holy spring also. There, a temple which had dedicated to Lord Shiva and his wife Goddess Parvati. It is among the breathtakingly beautiful places to visit in Kullu.

There is a mythological story behind the name ¨Kheerganga¨. There is a faith that Kartikeya, the son of Lord Shiva, came to this place after losing from his own brother Ganesha. He meditated here for years and years. He completed his medication only when Lord Shiva himself forced him to stop by changing the water into kheer (a sweet dish made up of rice and Milk).

Kheerganga Trek

Kheerganga is one of the best trekking destinations. This trek is an easy one that starts from Barsheni. From Barsheni, the trek is a total of 11 Kms which has very minute incline and decline which can be easily completed within 2 or hardly 3 days. It’s a pleasant and enjoyable journey. Rudra Nag, the serpent-shaped waterfall is a place of attraction during the trek.

One can explore Nakhtan Village and Rudra Nag Village in the trekking route to Kheerganga where one can find the pahadi culture. One can also enjoy the local delicacies at local cafes in the route. The scenic beauty throughout the trek is mesmerizing and gives a perfectly picturesque location. This trek will surely be one of the memorable treks for the trekkers.

Kheerganga National Park

It is believed that Kheerganga is one of the most beautiful National Parks in our country India. It was established in 2010 and covers an area of about 710 km square. Tourists can find green glossy hills, towering tall trees, beautiful landscapes plus, it also has some rest houses.

Visiting the Kheerganga National Park is a delightful experience in itself. It is situated at a height of 5500 mts. It is rich with flora and fauna. Kheerganga is an amazing place in itself hence it should include in the KULLU MANALI TOUR PACKAGE.
