The beach is positioned at Kovalam, a tiny village nestled not too far from the state’s capital Trivandrum. The whole beach is flanked with the lushness of palm trees. Kovalam Beach comprises of the Samudra Beach. The Lighthouse Beach and the Hawah Beach are the other two. Visitors make a beeline towards these beaches, looking for fun and frolic. The best part about visiting this beach is the variety of water sports offered for tourists. Everyone has something lined for them. There is Kovalam Surf Club where professional coaches teach novices sports like paddleboarding and surfing. The costs are also not that high, and every person can do them comfortably.

The beach became an icon of Kerala when the state’s first beach resort was built by Maharani Sethu Lakshmi Bayi. Moreover, in the 70’s with the advent of hippies, it became India’s most favorite beach destination.
