The Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is situated five kilometres from the Bassi Fort Palace in Chittorgarh, Rajasthan. The sanctuary is spread across an almost 15,290 hectares. It was established back in the year 1988 by the Government of India and is a very important natural reserve for the state. A tour of this beautiful sanctuary along with its vibrant flora and fauna should definitely be on your list of places to visit Chittorgarh. The sanctuary is also easily accessible by road from Chittorgarh and is a very good option to consider for tourists who want an escapade into nature.

The Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary is full of dry and deciduous trees that can survive Rajasthan’s harsh weather. Trees like Dhok, Churel, Butea and many other medicinal trees can be found here. Photographers and enthusiasts are often found here trying to capture a perfect shot of these beautiful birds and other majestic wild animals. They include Wild Boars, Hyenas, Wild Cats, Cheetahs,  Four Horned Antelopes, Civets, Chinkaras, Spotted Deers, Porcupines, Langurs etc.

Tourists can enjoy a rejuvenating experience of a Wildlife Safari while in Bassi Wildlife Sanctuary. Although the sanctuary does not allow camping activities, visitors can enjoy to their fullest during the guided Safari experience and take photographs and videos here.
