The Rai Ka Baag Palace or Rai Ka Bagh Palace is one of the prettiest palace attractions of Jodhpur city. Many JODHPUR PACKAGES include a quick tour of this palace. History and Specialty
The Rai Ka Baag Palace is also popularly known as the ‘Raj Bagh Haveli’ among locals. The Haveli has a beautiful octagonal shape containing various intricate rock carved structures. The Palace overlooks a beautiful garden too. In its early days, this Haveli or palace used to be a favourite spot of King Jaswant Singh . In the year 1883, when Swami Dayanand Saraswati (the famous Indian philosopher and founder of the Arya Samaj) came to Jodhpur, the Rai Ka Baag Palace was used as a public ground for his speeches and sermons to be held. The Palace is currently used as the Income Tax Office, yet can be visited by tourists. The palace is located very close to Rai Ka Bagh Palace station (approx.. 1.2 kilometres).
