Umaid garden, also known as Umed garden is a public garden situated in the city of Jodhpur in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This garden is one of the most beautiful and famous places to visit in Jodhpur. The Umaid garden is spread over an area of 82 acres. It was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh and was named after him as well. The garden can be accessed by the five separate gates which are spread in different directions. The garden is bedded with lush green lawns and lovely roses and ravishing seasoned flowers. The garden also houses a well equipped library and a zoo as well.
Umaid zoo
The zoo was inaugurated by Viceroy Willington of the British Raj. This zoo accommodates lions, tigers, zebras, ostriches, Emus and monkeys who are often seen hanging from the trees. There is a section in the zoo called 'Walk-in Aviary' which was constructed on the gardens in 1978. This section is home for different types of birds, ducks, African and Australian parrots. All the wildlife here are kept in their natural habitat. All these things collectively make this place a perfect getaway for the whole family, to enjoy the serenity here that rejuvenates the mind and the body. The Umaid garden and zoo is offered in various JODHPUR TOUR PACKAGES.
