One of the most excellent day treks around Mussoorie is the Bhadraj Temple Trek. It leads to the Bhadraj temple at the summit of the mountain (2,200 m) via a picturesque woodland stroll. Lord Balbhadra is honoured in the Bhadraj temple atop the hill—a 360-degree panorama of the Doon Valley to the south and the Assan Barrage to the west. You can also see the upper Himalayas to the north can be seen from Bhadraj Hill.

Bhadraj temple is a highly holy place in the Badrinath temple complex. It is thought that pilgrims who visit the Bhadraj Temple are bestowed with the same blessings as those who visit the Badrinath Temple. Devoted pilgrims to the Temple receive their dreams fulfilled. A location worth seeing, particularly for trek and history, is the MUSSOORIE TOUR PACKAGE.

History and mythology

Following the epic Mahabharata battle, the Dwapar Yug saw the construction of the Bhadraj Temple. All of the gods, monarchs, and warriors departed for their places of worship after the conflict. For penance, Lord Balram also set off on his pilgrimage. He was overjoyed when he found this stunning location in Bihar. The inhabitants of Bihar were amicable and took terrific care of their cows.

He meditated here for a considerable amount of time. All these attributes made him feel a unique attachment to the location and the locals. Once he had done his penance, he went to Badrinath and taught the shepherds basic fighting tactics.

Bhadraj Temple height and trek distance

For this reason, Lord Balram is honoured in this shrine at an elevation of 7,500 feet. The Temple provides an expansive vista of the snow-covered Himalayan peaks during clear skies. The Temple is a must-visit among places to visit in Mussoorie because of its stunning views.

Library End is where the Bhadraj Hill hike begins. There are beautiful old Victorian buildings along the streets in Library End. It is a five-and-a-half-kilometer hike from Library End to Cloud End Hotel. It is another seven and a half kilometres from Bhadraj Temple.

Why is Bhadraj Temple Trek famous?

Part of the Badrinath Temple complex, Bhadraj Temple is an extremely holy place. It is thought that pilgrims who visit the Bhadraj Temple are bestowed with the same blessings as those who visit the Badrinath Temple. Devotional prayer in the Temple grants the wishes of the praying pilgrims.
