Located about 6 km from Mussoorie at the summit of Depot Hill in Landour lies a well-known viewpoint called Lal Tibba. Reaching 2,275 meters (7,164 feet) in elevation, Lal Tibba offers stunning vistas of Kedarnath Peak and Nilkantha Peak near Badrinath. It also offers views of the Bandarpoonch series of three peaks, the highest of which is 6,316 meters.

It has a lengthy history as a military rehabilitation center and a summer retreat for British Raj occupants. The Lal Tibba area has gained prominence as a hill station for cantonments.
