The actual location of Bhrigu Lake is at a height of around 4,300 meters in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh. It places at the east of Rohtang Pass. This amazing lake gets the name from none but “Maharishi Bhrigu”. The interesting fact is that this complete splendid lake never freezes. The locals believe that this is a sacred Lake.

The Maharishi used to meditate here and thus, because of his blessings, the water of the lake never freezes completely. This Lake lies on various trek routes of the Himalayan region.

Bhrigu lake trek

The Bhrigu Lake Trek is one of the best trekking locations in Manali. It’s a moderate trekking route with a distance of 26 Kms. The trekking starts from Gulaba, which is at a height of 8,530 ft. This trek’s top or the highest is at 14,009 ft.

Most of the trekkers prefer to start the trek from Vashisht Temple. This temple is very famous for its hot water springs. The temple is located near Manali. With a trekking spot, it is a spiritual place as well. Bhrigu Lake Trek is one of the most fascinating places to visit in Manali.

During trekking on this route, one can experience the breath-taking views of mountain ranges, the rich line of oak and cedar forests, green fascinating meadows and gushing streams. The Seven Sister Peaks, Deo Tibba, Hanuman Tibba, the Pir Panjal Ranges provide the breath-taking view to the trekkers.

The view during this trek is absolutely amazing which makes the trekking experience overwhelming and thrilling. Also, one can explore the sacred ancient temples of Manali. The mountain gives a cool and refreshing breeze and with the breeze comes the fresh aroma of burning pine.

Best time to visit Bhrigu trek

The best time to go for trekking at Bhrigu Lake is from Mid May to October. The ideal time for trekking is before June or after July-August. Trekking mustn’t be done during the Rainy season as landslides are very common in this place during monsoon. Apart from landslides, other natural calamities also occur here. 

Bhrigu lake height

The height of Bhrigu Lake is almost 4,300 metres or 14,100 ft. The lush meadows and grasslands are the main attraction of this trek. While the trekkers move through these beautiful meadows, a stunning destination awaits them.
