Malana Village Trek
The ancient solitary village has surrounded by Malana Nala, Parvati Valley and northeast side of the Kullu Valley. The location is actually towards the downside from the peaks of Deo Tibba and Chanderkhani. It is one of the best places to visit in Manali
The place has beautiful scenic beauty and a peaceful atmosphere. People are rich in their own custom and culture being isolated from the rest of the world. The trekking route is 4km long an easy trek runs across Chanderkhani Pass and Malana River.
Malana Village Charas
Malana is very famous for its CHARAS or “Malana Cream”. The average cost ranges from 2.5lakh to 3lakh INR per kg. Each year thousands of travellers come to Malana Village in search of Malana cream.
Here, the hashish goes by the name of “Black gold”. Recently the government of Himachal took a great step to restrict the sale of Cannabis means Charas, as consumption of Malana /Hashish/ Charas Cream is illegal in India.
How to reach Malana Village
There are three ways to reach Malana Village. we can reach to the valley of Parvati through Rashol and Chanderkhani Passes from Himachal Pradesh. There is another way from Jari, which is 23km away and it is an easy way to go if you hire a taxi. There is a 4km long trekking route also. It is an easy trek to reach there.
Malana Village history
The sage Jamlu inhabited the village and believed to be one of the oldest democracies in the world. Jamlu rishi made all the rules and regulations following a well organized parliamentary system. The villagers believe that they are the descendants of Great soldier Alexander and inherit pure Aryan genes.
