There is a lovely green area called the Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden, one of the top places to visit in Gangtok. It draws many tourists with its peaceful beauty. On the highway near Rumtek Monastery, the Garden has rare trees, plants, and flowers, such as Himalayan Orchids. The Parks and Gardens branch of the Forest Department of the Government of Sikkim takes care of this lush green area.

Flora and Fauna at the Botanical Garden

They have built a massive greenhouse in the yard to grow different kinds of orchids. They have created a small play area with a merry-go-round, swings, and a see-saw for fun. You can also visit this peaceful place with some amazing Gangtok tour packages.

The Parks and Gardens unit of the Sikkimese Forest Department has done a great job of taking care of all the trees, bushes, and flowering plants. People think the yard has more than 50 trees, such as thick groups of big oaks that grow in mild climates.
