The Myth and Legend behind Seven Sisters Waterfalls

Tradition tells us that the Khasi story from Meghalaya highlights the significance of the Nohsngithiang Falls, also known as the Seven Sisters Falls. The seven waterfalls are said to represent seven sisters who were spiritual beings. They escape a lover by turning into water that flows over the cliff. This story is about their friendship and bond. Even though there are other waterfalls close by, each one flows separately, symbolizing lasting sisterhood and unity in love.

The Nohsngithiang Falls View Point is important not just for its myths but also for its history related to the Khasi people. Tourists need help in exploring the rough terrain of the Meghalaya hills known as skillful navigators. Local experts have appreciated the falls for a very long time, turning them into a cultural marker of travel and tourism as tourists come.
