In another story, a demon named Mahishasur overthrew Indra, the king of the heavens. Mahishasur was the son of demon king Rambha and a water bull. Because Lord Brahma had blessed him so that neither man nor God could kill him, he became more and more angry.

To stop being cruel, other gods asked for and received the approval of the holy Trinity, which is Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and Lord Shiva. This is how Goddess Durga came to be.
