Salar Jung Museum

The Salar Jung Museum is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Hyderabad. It is on the banks of the Musi River and is a piece of history. Salar Jung Museum's Historical Significance

Former Prime Minister of the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad Nawab Mir Yusuf Ali Khan Salar Jung III bought most of the museum's collection. Over thirty-five years, he spent a lot of his cash acquiring rare collections from different civilizations. 

He left his prestigious position to collect rare art. A 1951 private museum opened by Jawahar Lal Nehru displayed his ancestral palace's artifacts. His death was commemorated by a public holiday. The current collection is thought to be half of Salar Jung III's. Afzalgunj became the museum's home in 1968. Around 2000, the museum compound received two new structures.
