Sanjeevaiah Childrens Park

At the heart of the city, right next to Hussain Sagar Lake, Sanjeevaiah Park is in a great spot. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority manages this park, naming it after Damodaram Sanjivayya, the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

The main attractions in Sanjeevaiah Park

Sanjeevaiah Park, along Necklace Road, is ideal for family picnics. Sit and appreciate the lush greenery away from city traffic and bustle. Roses are this park's main draw. Everyone loves its rock garden and floral clock. A day trip there is perfect for families. Children have plenty of space to play. Adults can play Frisbee, etc.

A leisurely walk through the flora is also frequent. Joggers and park walkers have their pavement. The park is famous as the Lover's Park because many couples choose to spend some quality time in the splendid surroundings. From roller skating races to awareness campaigns, it hosts several events, making it one of the places to visit in Hyderabad. 

What is the history of Sanjeevaiah Park?

There were first plans for an aerial tramway to link Sanjeevaiah Park to Lumbini Park, which is on the other side of the lake. The plan wasn't approved in the end, though. Not only is this park a famous place for tourists to visit, but it also won the Best Open Landscape Award from the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage in 2010. It's also one of Hyderabad's most prominent and oldest parks.

Is Sanjeevaiah Park good for birdwatching?

Along with its beautiful scenery, it has a lot of different plants and animals. About 100 different kinds of birds, both resident and non-resident, live in this park. In the winter, you can see a lot more types of birds that come from all over the world. This park is home to about 50 kinds of bugs and butterflies.

People often see the Pied Crested Cuckoo in this park, and it is considered a sign that the summer rains are coming. Since 2010, when construction work began in the park, many of the familiar birds that used to visit have not visited there. These include cormorants, jacanas, spot bills, common coots, cranes, and purple herons.

This park is famous for being one of Hyderabad's famous 7-star Tourist Attractions and was awarded the Best Open Landscape Award by the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage in 2010. It is one of the most prominent and near historical parks of the Hyderabad tour package.
