Telangana State Archaeology Museum

They were once called the Telangana State Archaeology Museum, the Hyderabad Museum, or the AP State Archaeology Museum. It is located in the Public Garden of Hyderabad. This Museum is one of the oldest and best in South India and is among the top places to visit in Hyderabad. It's also one of the oldest in Hyderabad. In the 1800s, the famous archaeologist Henry Cousens explored the area where the Museum is now located.

History of Telangana State Museum

During British rule, the last Nizam worked hard to keep the state and country's rich history and tradition alive. All the efforts that went into establishing this Museum. In the same vein, he founded the Department of Archaeology in 1915, which performed precise work at heritage sites and protected monuments significant to history. It consists of different old items found during excavations around 1940, with the help of the Nizams of Hyderabad at the time.

Among its many beautiful items, this Museum also has the mummy of the daughter of Egypt's sixth pharaoh. The son-in-law of VI Nizam Mahbub Ali Khan is said to have bought it for 1000 pounds. Later, the seventh Nizam of Hyderabad gave it to Nizam Mir Osma Ali Khan. This is also where a copy of the Holy Quran with Shah Jahan's seal has been kept.
