On a hill that is 2,000 feet high, Falaknuma Palace Hyderabad stands proudly. You can really feel like you're back in the Nizam Era when this house was built.

It was Nawab Vikar-ul-Umra who built Falaknuma Palace. After architects had made plans for the building in 1884, it took almost 9 years to complete the Palace. Nizam VI later bought Taj Falaknuma Palace in 1897. It is now one of the most famous places tourists visit in Hyderabad. He used the castle as a place for royal guests to stay.

History of Falaknuma Palace

People say that Nizam loved to travel and would bring back gifts from all over the world. One reason Falaknuma Palace has such a large collection is because of this. It has a huge library, a unique collection of the Holy Quran, a marble stair, and carved balustrades, among other things.

Another interesting thing to notice is the Palace's eating table made of rosewood, which can seat 100 people at a time. The Nizam also owned huge collections of rare books, paintings, statues, furniture, and papers. People throughout the world are well aware of the Jade collection of Falaknuma Palace. Beautiful Mughal, Japanese, and Rajasthani gardens are also in the house.

The Taj Group acquired this Palace and transformed it into a 5-star hotel in 2010. Now, everybody calls it the Taj Falaknuma Palace. The rooms of the hotel are 60 in number and well-sized so that guests feel like princes/ princesses here.

Architectural Style and Interior Details

Building the Falaknuma Palace took 32 acres of land and about 2,000 feet of elevation above Hyderabad. Made with Italian marble, the Italian builder who created it is known as the "mirror of the sky." It remains one of the most amazing 19th-century buildings and is a must-see in Hyderabad tour packages.

About 220 rooms and 22 halls exist inside the house, and each hall is made beautiful with great care. The many beautiful Venetian lights are one of the most interesting things about this house. Their size and beauty make each person very astounded while seeing them. The well-thought-out construction of the Palace reflects the affluence and style of the Nizam period.

Notable Artifacts and Rooms Inside Falaknuma Palace

The Falaknuma Palace is home to many interesting things, such as old furniture, royal pictures, and beautiful chandeliers. The Jade Room, the Banquet Hall, and the huge Durbar Hall all show how rich and fancy Nizam's life used to be.
