Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan built the beautiful Khas Mahal, also written as Khaas Mahal, using white marble. It was also his private palace, and it was where his two favorite children lived. People think it's the most beautiful building in Agra Fort. The Mahal is a popular PLACE TO VISIT IN AGRA.

The builders constructed the house on a raised platform with marble floors that overlook the Yamuna River. You can see classical Persian and Islamic styles everywhere. Artisans also used delicate and artistic latticework on the windows.

The Khas Mahal in Agra was also famous as Aramgah-i-Muqaddar, which translates to "rest house of the noble." It's meant to be airy, and it has open patios with pavilions on either side.

History

The Khaas Mahal was built by Shah Jahan between 1631 and 1640 and looked beautiful in the Haram complex. It has curved openings that lead to the side rooms, as well as the main hall.

The two buildings in the palace are very similar to each other. They are separated from the hall by a high marble wall. The Mughal emperor liked to relax in the main house. Two of his daughters, Jahanara and Roshanara, had their rooms there.

Architecture

The beautiful Khas Mahal house is part of the fort complex and has a view of the Angoori Bagh Garden and the River Yamuna on one side. The main palace has a hall in the middle and rooms and nooks at the ends.  Builders constructed it entirely of white marble, and they designed the front with a large, open terrace facing the yard. There is also a lovely tank with fountains in front of the house.

Artists painted the outside of the Khas Mahal with small flowers and geometric designs. It also had very fancy decorations inside. Artisans carved and shaped beautiful brackets for the rooms, and they designed the ceilings to be flat. It used a lot of gold and blue, and you can still see some of that on the walls.

Builders constructed the side towers from red sandstone, but they stuccoed and polished them to resemble white marble. The curved cornices on each of these buildings are a nod to the style of architecture common in Bengal. The beautiful architecture makes the place worth visiting during the AGRA TOUR PACKAGE
