Bhimgoda Tank is a revered tank located in Haridwar, 3 kilometres from Haridwar Junction Railway Station and 1 mile from Har Ki Pauri. This tank receives water from the Ganges. A dam near the tank is also exciting and worth including activity in your Haridwar tour package. Additionally, the tank also has many beautifully designed gardens. The tank's environs are aromatic from the flowers.

Additionally, some fountains further enhance the area's charm. Some fountains greatly enhance the area's charm. The Bhimgoda Tank is a magical place where you can have some of the best times of your life, whether you are a traveller or a pilgrim. The beautiful garden makes it one of the must-visit places to visit in Haridwar.

In the current era, the holy Bhimgoda kund is crucial in controlling the surplus Ganges water entering the Bhimgoda Tank. A canal was constructed to alter the direction of the water's flow from the tank into the Bhimgoda headworks.

In the modern era, the dam has magnified its natural attractiveness. The construction of several artificial fountains, tiny canals, and swift-moving falls elevated the holy site of Bhimgoda Kund to a significant Haridwar tourist attraction. Bhimgoda Kund, surrounded by expansive gardens, soothes visitors from the stress and pressures of daily life.

History of Bhimgoda Tank

Bhima, the second of the five Pandavas in the Hindu epic Mahabharata, is honoured by having the holy tank bear his name. The sacred tank is said to have been created when Bhima slammed his knee into the ground. It took place when the Pandavas were passing through Haridwar on their way to the Himalayas. When he felt the need for it, Bhima pierced his knee to the ground to make a puddle of water.
