Among the various ashrams, Anandamayi Ashram is another place to stay during the Haridwar tour package. This ashram got its name, honouring the well-known spiritual icon Ma Anandamayi. She often used to visit the ashram and stayed there for months. Ma Anandamayi was from Bengal and was very famous for her Yogic skills. She made people convert to spiritual beliefs while travelling worldwide. The 86-year-old joyful mother, born on April 30, 1896, and passed away on August 27, 1982, had Samadhis created to bury their eternal remains. The construction of the Samadhi is in white marble and has a secure crypt that is sturdy, elegant and simple.
