Deoria Tal, also known as Devariya Tal, is a beautiful lake near Chopta. This magnificent site offers peace and a panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks, including Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Kedar Range, and Kalanag, after a 2.5-kilometer uphill journey from Sari hamlet.

Devariyatal is a beautiful lake famous for its breathtaking reflections of the Chaukhamba Range in the crystal blue water. The lake hides within the valley, surrounded by woods. The Deoria Tal in Kedarnath is a fantastic destination on the KEDARNATH TOUR PACKAGE.

Deoria Tal is at an incredible elevation of 2300 meters above sea level. It is flanked by dense forest on one side and towering Himalayas on the other. At Deoria Tal, you can camp overnight and hike through the jungle excursions. There are a couple of tea and snack stores. However, they close at dusk.

History

According to tradition, it is the lake where the Pandavas encountered resistance by a Yaksha. He demanded that they answer his question before drinking from it.

Deoria Tal is also famous as "Indra Sarovar". It was thought that the Devs (Lords) bathed in this lake, hence the name Devariyatal. The lake is the "Indra Sarovar", by reference in the Puranas by wandering Hindu mendicants known as Sadhus.

Camping

One of the finest aspects of Devariyatal is the ability to camp with family and friends near the lake. Camping is usually a delightful experience, with the reflection of Chaukhamba's peak on the lake. Trekkers can spend valuable time with friends and family amidst the majestic Himalayan peaks, surrounded by beautiful flora.

From the vantage point of Deoriyatal, travelers may see other prominent peaks such as Nilkantha, Bandarpunch, Kedar Range, Kalanag, and others, in addition to the spectacular Chaukhamba peak. Travelers can find a few dhabas and cafes a few meters before the lake, but there are no overnight options other than tents.

Because the lake is located in the Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary, early-morning visitors may be able to glimpse small animals. Unsurprisingly, Deoriyatal is one of Uttarakhand's most popular places to visit in Kedarnath

The Difficulty of Deoria Tal Trek

The Deoria Tal hike is one of the simplest in Uttarakhand. It is an excellent weekend trip from Delhi, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and other nearby cities. Furthermore, you can extend the walk to Bisuri Tal, Chopta via Rohini Bugyal, and even Tungnath and Chandrasila.
