The temple town of Guptkashi is 47 kilometers from the holy town of Kedarnath. Guptakashi is at an elevation of 1319 m above sea level and is surrounded by the enthralling snow-covered peaks of the Chaukhamba Himalayas. If you plan a vacation to Uttarakhand, include Guptakashi on your list of places to visit in Kedarnath

Guptakashi is a significant spiritual destination recognized for the ancient Vishwanath Temple. Like the one in Varanasi, the temple pays tribute to the god Shiva.

The village is home to two ancient temples. The Vishwanath temple of lord Shiva and another one is Ardhnarishwar temple. Manikarnika Kund is another prominent tourist destination in town. Guptkashi is a fantastic place to halt on your trip to Kedarnath. The town is a great vacation destination because of its pleasant weather, thick forests, and stunning views of the Alps.

Trekking at Guptkashi

The hike from Guptkashi to Hemkund Sahib and the Valley of Flowers is a naturalist's dream. The valley, which is over 10 km long and 2 km wide, is open to travelers from April to August. However, it is most attractive from late July to August. This location is only 53 kilometers from Guptkashi.
If you want to embark on a religious pilgrimage, Guptkashi also has that. The trek to Tungnath shrine is both traffic-free and scenic. This journey is best done between March and October. The place is a must in KEDARNATH TOUR PACKAGE
