Rudranath, Lord Shiva's highly respected temple, is pleasantly ornamented in the Garhwal Himalayas. Make your travel even more memorable by visiting the picturesque Rudranath in the KEDARNATH TOUR PACKAGE, which will add a touch of natural beauty to your journey.

The celestial temple is among rhododendron trees and alpine meadows. The thrilling walk to the temple can begin from Sagar, Helang, or Urgam villages.

The Rudranath temple is the most difficult of the Panch Kedar temples to reach. Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Nanda Ghunti are Himalayan peaks that add to Rudranath's beauty.

History

The Rudranath Temple, built by Pandavas, is to be a symbol of Lord Shiva's forgiveness for their sins. After a war, Pandavas sought Lord Shiva in the Himalayas, who escaped as a bull and appeared at various temples, including the Panch Kedars.

In the Temple, Lord Shiva is famous as 'Nilkanta Mahadev'. According to legend, Lord Shiva came to the earth and appeared at Rudranath.

However, Lord Shiva's angry visage is a temporary mask. One can see his lovely beauty when it is removed from his face at the holy bath. This holy face of the Lord is to enlighten and comfort all his believers.

Rudranath Trek

The trekking route to the temple provides breathtaking vistas of nature's diverse beauty and steep gorges that add to the adventure. The temple is the most difficult to reach of the Panch Kedar temples.

But seeing the magnificent Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Nanda Ghunti peaks is well worth the effort. The trail winds through wild green meadows and dense trees, with breathtaking vistas of the Himalayas.

There are three alternative trek paths to the top, each with unique terrain and charm. Because of its difficult terrain, locals refer to the Trek as "Rudranath ki Chadai, German ki Ladai."

Activities at Rudranath

You can visit the local temple in Sagar while traveling to Rudranath. While trekking, visit the picturesque Lyuti Bugyal and Panar Bugyal regions. Surya Kund, Chandra Kund, Tara Kund, and Manas Kund are the minor lakes surrounding the shrine. Counted among the top places to visit in Kedarnath, Rudranath stands out as a must-visit, offering a truly exceptional experience for travelers.
