One of the most exciting buildings the world has ever seen is Jhulta Minar, which is in Ahmedabad. Still, people need to learn how to solve the mystery. The minarets are one of a kind because if you shake one, the other one will shake within seconds. Still, the passageway between them doesn't send any moves or vibrations.

A lot of architects and historians have tried to figure out the physics and reasoning behind the minarets' movements that need to be clarified. The name "Jhulta Minar," which means "swinging minaret," comes from the way it moves. The monument is another exciting place to visit in Ahmedabad.

History of Jhulta Minar

There are two different versions of the events behind the building of the minarets. The first one says that Sultan Ahmed Shah had one of his slaves, Sidi Bashir, build the mosque. This is where the name of the mosque came from.

According to research, the mosque was finished in 1452. Later, it was burned in 1753 during a war between the Marathas and the Khans of the Gujarat Sultanate.

People in the court of Mahmud Begada, who was another Sultan of Gujrat, said that the minarets were built as part of a mosque that Malik Sarang built. The style and materials used to build the minarets are similar to those used during Muhammed Bagada's rule. It means that the building has been around since 1511 or later.

The name and date of the mosque went missing when the central part of the building broke down. It makes it very hard to figure out how the minarets got their start.

Architecture

The Jhulta Minar is an excellent example of actual mediaeval Indian architecture. They are in a Gothic Muslim style with Rajputana elements. This tower is 34 meters long and has three floors. They have stone platforms that have outstanding balance. The only reason for these balconies is to enclose the tower. In the middle of the tower is a set of stairs.

The best time to visit

Winter, from October to March, is the best time to visit Ahmedabad. At this point, the weather is mild and calm, which is excellent for city tours. But there will be a lot of people there in November, December, January, and February, which are the busiest months. As part of your Ahmedabad tour package, you should make time to see this stunning monument.
